" A herald to the body of Christ"

Learning Discerning

A Church without discernment is a dangerous thing. As followers of Christ, we must come to the point of maturity where discernment and righteous judgement are continually in operation. We’ve been conditioned to listen for these things coming from the mouths of church leaders, but have largely forsaken the responsibility to allow these areas to […]

Unfolding The Fivefold Ministry

What if your church had no music or song service? Could you worship without song? What if there were no programs? Could children, abused women, divorcees, and recovering alcoholics gather in the same place and be equally ministered to? What if there were no weekly agenda, no growth track or building plans? Sacrificially Speaking

As this political season in the United States is coming to an end, I’m seeing what I’ve known for a while to be true — people do not want to know the truth. What is most surprising to me, though, is the number of believers that actually despise truth.

He believed that the lives of believers should represent the life of Jesus and of His kingdom. I happen to agree with him. When I think about […]

Transitions

My friend John just posted this on Facebook, and as soon as I saw it, I asked his permission to share it on my blog. It is a message that the church must hear & come to terms with. So, with his blessing, I’m honored to introduce you to my very good friend, John Miltenberger…

When Believers Refuse to Believe

Earlier this year as Covid-19 began to shake things up, my wife and I talked at length about how the body of Christ would be exposed in this. I recall saying that I felt that the rooftops of churches were going to be peeled back, uncovering those hiding under religion and separating church affiliates from the ones who make up the actual Church. What I’m seeing playing out in open view is that the faith community is shrinking drastically. I’m not talking about people walking away from Christianity, but people who claim to be of the faith, but are so lost in denial of how our faith is calling us to respond that they cannot see straight….
